SUSHI SUPRISE!!!

After work last night I get a call from my dad...

SUPRISE-he is in town and wants to go to dinner. How fun right!!

We met him and his friends Benjamin and Jordyn from Uneek jewelery downtown for Sushi at Takimi Sushi and Robata Restaurant, which I think is probably the best japanese restaurant that I have ever been to. The sushi bar is on the 21st floor of some building on Wilshire blvd. It has a really posh, lounge style atmosphere. We sat facing a view of the city, it was so lovely!

The food was excellent!!

The sushi rolls were really fresh and tasty.

My dad even tried a couple rolls(I am not so sure he liked it though).

They also have a separate menu for "Robata" which is grilled vegetables and meat. The grilled Chilean Sea Bass, was sceriously was to die for!!

It was SO MUCH FUN!!! to see my dad and hang out in the City with him and our friends from Uneek...I hope to do it again soon.

Lukes Birthday

Lukes Birthday:

For Luke's Birthday back in March we had some friends over to a BBQ. Kara, Tyler and Riley were in town for the weekend so they were able to celebrate with us also. Everything turned out great for Lukes happy 26th day!

It was so nice to have friends and family over to wish Luke a Happy Birthday. Thanks to everyone who came.

As you can see, Luke was happy to have a new Birthday grill. He has told me about 100 times since his birthday how glad he is to have a grill. I am glad also because this means Luke does more of the cooking!!

Happy Anniversary!!

So I know that I just posted but I wanted to get some pictures up from last weekend. Monday was our 3rd Anniversary. I can not believe that we have made it here already. Luke did good and spoiled me like usual.

Noodle World: A weekly Event!!

One of the best parts of California is Noodle World. Luke and I discovered Noodle World on the first day we moved to Pasadena, and have been fans ever since. We love the food-even though we know it is packed with MSG!! The food tastes way too good to not be full of it. When we are there Luke gets to feel like he is back on his mission and I get to enjoy the prices! Noodle World-Thanks!

Ryan Seacrest is my absolute favorite! He is super witty, kind of dorky, and very human and that is why I like him. I listen to his morning show on kiss fm every morning. His website http://www.ryanseacrest.com/ has the best celebrity news and gossip (I really can't believe that I get into all this but I do). Last night while watching American Idol it dawned on me. It was either when the bikini girl kissed him or when he tried to shake hands with that blind guy...I can't remember, but last night I realized that he was my favorite. So, props to Ryan for being the Coolest and the most awkward celeberity ever!!!!!

Christmas Cookies

The other night while Luke was in Utah for the holidays I had some friends over to make Christmas cookies. It was really fun! I was so happy to have a chance to talk to everyone and get to know them better.

Everyones cookies turned out really cute. We made about 400 I think. Mine were the cutest though...sorry girls it really is hard to be as talented as I am!! Thanks to everyone who came over...hopefully we can do it next year!

John Mayer at the Nokia Theater

JOHN MAYER CONCERT: Okay, Living in Los Angeles really has its perks. Last Saturday we went to the John Mayer concert at the Nokia Theater with our good buddies the Copples. The show was spectacular. John is extremly talented. I closed my eyes and listened to the music and was amazed by how beautiful it was!!!! We had excellent seats...thanks to Lucas John. This made it even more amazing. We even got to spy on Jennifer Aniston back stage. From where we sat we could see her watching the show. I was almost as excited to see her as I was to see John.

Turkey Day at the Farrs

THANKSGIVING: Really the best eating day of the year! This year we had thanksgiving at the Farr home. My mom really went all out and made some awesome food. We had 4 different types of pies...chocolate, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin and lemon. Don't worry- they were all very excellent!! It was nice to see everyone and be home for a while...and to listen to Grandpa Lu's stories. Sceriously, he is so dang funny!!

Utah stomps on BYU

We Love our UTES!! What could be better than beating BYU? The game was so much fun. We watched the game at "Patsy's"an Irish Pub in Laguna Niguel. We went down with our fellow Utes Briger and Lauren Jensen. The University of Utah's Alumni association held a party at Patsy's, which was so much fun!! It felt like home surrounded by all the crazy Utah fans.

The celebration after each touchdown was outstanding! Everyone in the pub would Hi Five their neighbors and cheer or clap as loud as possible. It was great. Luke was the loudest off all the fans. He topped all the drunk people. I am sure everyone thought he was tipping a few back.

They held a raffle at half time where they handed out UTAH gear...we didn't win anything but we did take home some sweet GO UTES fans!!

We can't wait until next year when we stomp on BYU again !!!

Hurst Castle Trip

We just had the best weekend. We traveled to the Hurst Castle in San Simeon, California with our friends Brik and Ashely. It is about a 3 hour drive, but well worth it. The castle was built by William Randlph Hurst, a leading newspaper publisher in the early 1900's. Hurst hosted parties in the castle back in the day. Some of his guests were Charlie Chaplin, Cary Grant and Amelia Earhart. The "house" has amazing views, art, tapestries and gardens.

On the way to the Hurst Castle we stayed in the quaint Danish town of "Solvang". Solvang is the largest Danish town in the United States. The unique architecture creates a fun atmosphere. As you shop you walk on cobblestone streets and look at danish store signs. I liked the windmills the most. The best part of Solvang is they served "Aebleskivers", little Danish pancake balls served with powdered sugar and strawberry jam on top...yummy
